Commitment to Trauma Informed Care
Intercept Health offers a robust continuum of residential, therapeutic foster care, school-based, clinic-based, and community-based services. Our clinical approach may vary between programs as we work to meet unique behavioral health needs of our individuals and their families. However, the foundation of our clinical approach is rooted in trauma-informed care. A trauma-informed approach means our programs realize the prevalence of trauma and opportunities for recovery and they can recognize signs and symptoms of trauma in individuals, families, and staff. A trauma-informed approach also means understanding how trauma affects the brain, body, and a person’s choices and behaviors and integrates this knowledge in how to best respond through actions, relationships, and environments. A trauma informed approach means assessing situations through a culturally sensitive lens and understanding each person’s situation and story is unique. Through trauma-informed care we partner with individuals and families in their healing process and work to avoid experiences that may be re-traumatizing.
Intercept Health’s leadership is firmly committed to cultivating and maintaining a culture of trauma-informed practices and perspectives. Through our individual and collective efforts, we elevate others to live their healthiest lives.
